Rain and Ronda.

Dear All,

The past few days have been quite nice and relaxing.  I am finally getting into a routine which feels real good.  On Friday, we all went to Ronda on one of our first excursions and we had a blast.  It was a tad rainy, but it was so fun and absolutely gorgeous.  I have missed being in the mountains, so this was a real refreshing trip for me.

Please enjoy.

Ronda isin the province of Andalusia just like Sevilla.  It is cool because this town has two very unique parts to it.  There is one side where it is the old medieval town and the other which they consider the new part in town, even though it is a couple hundred years old.  The bridge that you see is one of the most famous landmarks in Ronda.  It is called the Puenta Nuevo and is what connects the two generations of the town together.  It is built in three sections and it is such a trip to stand on it and look all the way down to the river underneath it.

Ronda is also home to the second oldest bull fighting arena in Spain.  We got to go inside and not only sit in the stands, but check out where they have all the bulls before/during the bull fights.  It was really cool to learn some more about this sport here in Spain.

After walking about Ronda for a bit, we all decided we were in desperate need for some chocolate, so we found this awesome chocolate restaurant that sold none other than chocolate.

Some of my friends got ice cream, some got hot chocolate (it was pretty cold there), and some got this awesome drink that was basically liquid chocolate.  I don't even know what it is called but it was absolutely amazing.  MMM.  I got a crepe filled with chocolate, of course.  It was awesome.

Saturday we explored more of the city.  We are beginning to know the layout of the land and it is kind of fun knowing and learning about a new place.  While exploring, we came upon the Barcelona professional soccer team and their bus.  There were tons of people around and everyone was so excited.  One guy even fainted and had to go to the hospital in an ambulance (not so good).  But all in all, exploring was a lot of fun.

Because I am going through a Christian study abroad program, we have been able to connect with a local missionary here to help us plug in to a church and their ministries.  So, on Sunday we joined her and her family at church roughly 15 minutes away.  I loved it!!  It was amazing to see and hear people from a different world and language worship the same God I do.  What a great feeling!

So, now I am going to leave you.  Don't be sad.  I will see you again.

Until next time.

Sincerely,
Angela
